Affinity is not a side system. Quests can cost you affinity, and a knight who loses enough of it stops offering their personal quest — or leaves the table entirely, taking their story with them. A meal each round is the cheapest way to hold the line.

Read it the other way round when you are deciding what to cook rather than who to feed. Crêpe covers the most knights; Lion's Taco the fewest.

What this means in practice

• One meal per round means the choice matters. Spend it on the knight whose affinity is about to be dented by the quest you just assigned them, not on whoever you like most.
• Crêpe is the safe default. Thirteen of the 24 knights accept it — more than any other meal.
• Chester and Dulahan are the flexible ones. Whatever you have on hand works for them, which makes them the two you can feed when nothing else lines up.
• Watch Edith and the single-meal cases. Edith takes only Brizhian Butter Shortbread. If you are running her toward the transformation, keep that in stock.
